Eco-Friendly Initiatives: Kids ‘R’ Kids of Cary, Morrisville and Research Triangle Park have announced that the Cary and Morrisville preschools have redesigned their playgrounds to reflect environmentally-friendly practices.  All three locations have implemented a new recycling program.  The new playground at the Cary location will feature artificial turf and eliminate the use of pesticides, fertilizer or water, while giving children a non-trip and wheelchair-accessible platform.  By trading most of the grass for artificial turf, the school will conserve 46,672 gallons of water each month.  The playground is designed to retain a small natural area for planting and a sand pit for water activities.  The Morrisville school’s playground features artificial turf on fall areas, eliminating the need for mulch.  All three schools will now have recycling bins for cardboard boxes, food cans and paper products in the classrooms and the kitchen areas.   

Summer Camp Podcast: Kids ‘R’ Kids Schools of Quality Learning in Cary, Morrisville and Research Triangle Park have announced the release of a podcast discussing the criteria parents should consider when choosing a summer camp for their child.  In the podcast, Julie Moye, co-owner of the three North Carolina five-star-certified preschools, discusses what parents should consider when choosing a summer camp for their child, including activities, staff certification and more. Choosing a Preschool Podcast: Kids ‘R’ Kids Schools of Quality Learning in Cary, Morrisville and Research Triangle Park have announced the release of a podcast discussing the importance of choosing the right preschool for your child.  In the podcast, Julie Moye, co-owner of the North Carolina five-star-certified preschools, describes the criteria parents should consider when choosing a preschool, including faculty, curriculum, certifications and more. CITA-Certified: Kids ‘R’ Kids International has received corporate accreditation from the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA).  Created in 1994, CITA is a department of AdvancED, a program dedicated to excellence in education.

Independent Weekly Award: Kids ‘R’ Kids Schools of Quality Learning in Cary, Morrisville and Research Triangle Park have announced that the local childcare centers have been named Best Day Care and Best Summer Camp by Independent Weekly’s 2010 Best of Triangle Awards.  Winners are selected by readers’ polls.  Kids ‘R’ Kids Schools of Quality Learning are owner-operated schools dedicated to establishing a child care environment where children are “hugged first and then taught.”  These five-star schools of excellence provide an in-house curriculum designed for educational enrichment of children, ages six weeks to 12 years. 

Platinum Award: Kids `R` Kids of Cary was chosen by Kids `R` Kids International as a Platinum Award Winner, the highest top tier recognition award given to any school for 2008 and 2009.  This award was given based on the evaluation of quality, curriculum, sanitation, parent satisfaction, employee satisfaction and state compliance.
